are apple hold out's on imovie

I was sitting here on the new computer and wondering why Apple hasn't included a Spilt Screen or Picture in Picture funtion on the new imovie program. If you can get plug in for $9.99, would it really be that hard to include it as a standard feature.

Is it to "encourage" users to upgrade to Final Cut Express.

Probably so.


About the split screen this is really something that is easily done in FCE or FCP. You can also do that with QT Pro but is not as easy.

Some can be done in iMovie HD 6 if you buy third part plug-ins. But if your gonna spend money on something I would spend it on FCE.
