Hi to the Forum. When an email message that has been forwarded several times is received in Mail, there are several vertical lines on the left. If I want to forward the message, is there a way to remove the vertical lines before forwarding? Thanks for any help....SlimJim

Just highlight the material to be removed (highlighted in blue) and hit the delete key.........that's it!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't get rid of the vertical lines on the left side of the email. There's no way that I can find just to highlight the vertical lines. I can highlight and delete items in the body of the email, but can't get rid of the vertical lines. I received an email with three vertical lines. When I went to forward it, and to test your suggestion, there appeared four vertical lines, as I knew would happen. I couldn't find a way to get rid of the four vertical lines before sending the email. Thanks for offering a suggestion anyway...SlimJim

Preferences >> Mail >> Composing

under Responding

Uncheck Increase Quote level.

Thanks, macnuke, we're getting closer. After implementing your suggestion, when I went to forward the email, the vertical lines didn't increase to four, so that helped. Now, I'm still trying to get rid of the original three vertical lines. Other thoughts?....SlimJim

same place

Uncheck Quote the text of the original message.

that should lose the embedded quote tag so you can erase it all.

it's a pain tho... losing the lines that were part of the original msg without losing the message will prolly require line by line editing.
Message was edited by: yours truly when I actually read ALL of your question. :D
