When I enter a date on my MACBOOK Laptop using Entourage, the date will (usually) show up in my iPod Touch when I run the synch operation. Not so, however, when I enter a date in the iPod touch calendar and then run the synch operation. THe date remains in the iPod Touch calendar but doe NOT show up in the Entourage Calendar on my MACBOOK.
Any thoughts on how to improve the compatibility of the iPod touch with Entourage?

I don't know if you can setup an iPod Touch to directly sync with Entourage or not, but it will sync with iCal and you can setup Entourage to sync its calendar with iCal. Go into the Preferences of Entourage (should be under the Entourage menu when in the Entourage program). There should be a section in the preferences called "Sync Services". Should look something like this:

Thanks for the suggestion on using the synch settings in the preferences section. This helped, somewhat.
Entourage, iCal, and iTouch do not work well together. The problem seems to be one of timing. When I enter an item in the iPod touch calendar and use the iTunes synch button to link the iPod with the Entourage Calendar in my MACBOOK the new item will sometimes show up immediately in the iCal schedule. At other times it shows up in iCal at a much later time. It never shows up immediately in my ENTOURAGE (exchange) calendar. It always shows up at some indeterminate time in the future. (Note: I'm not really interested in iCal. It seems, however, to work as the bridge between iTouch and Entourage exchange calendars. For this reason I have to be concerned with iCal.)
The same process seems to occur in reverse. When I make a change in the Entourage Calendar, it shows up at an indeterminate time later in iCal. The same is true for the iTouch calendar. The change shows up there at a later time.
The end result is that I can never really trust my calendars during the ebb and flow of activities during a day. I have to pull up all three calendars to get an idea of my schedule.
Anyone have thoughts on ways to set the timing on all synch operations so that running a sych operation for the iTouch through iTunes will lead to immediate changes in iCal and Entourage? Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Not sure I can add much here however I usually do not experience any problems with the day to day synchronization between Entourage and my iPod Touch. I to have to use iCal as the middle were program in order to sync calendar items. The other day however I noticed that after rebooting my machine I had a message stating that there were a ton of un-synced items between iCal and entourage that were out of sync, giving me the option to decide which cal events to use. The options were iCal event or Entourage. I chose Entourage because that comes form our exchange server and that ultimately is the one that is most accurate. After I opened up Entourage I noticed that their were a ton of items that now appeared in entourage that were very old items or items that had been deleted originally from Entourage.
The next move I made was horrific - I thought to myself let me delete the iCal calendar named entourage so that I could re-sync it with the entourage (exchange server) data. GUESS WHAT FOLKS, all the data from the iCal calendar that I deleted also completely wiped out and deleted all events and tasks on the exchange server NEVER EVER to be found again. I called our help desk to see what they could offer and unfortunately they can not restore this data unless they restore the entire organizational exchange database data. They were not going to do that for little ole me the only GUY using a MAC on the entire 6000 user base exchange server. So lessoned learned you may want to disable sync preference in Entourage first before deleting the iCal calendar that Entourage uses to sync.
Hopefully and I'm not sure if anyone know if Entourage Microsoft 2008 has additional preferences to make sure that this doesn't happen. Give us a little more sync functionality or better yet LET US SYNC directly up to Entourage instead of using iCal

Did you ever get an answer to this. I have exactly the same problem. Enter appointments on my touch but they never hit my entourage. They do hit my ical sometimes but not my entourage. I assume that maybe MobileMe fixes this IF I want to pay $100 per year to sync my calendars?? Is this a known bug??
Thanks

I just noticed this glitch today using my new Macbook (white one) that I got just before Christmas and Entourage 08. (As part of the Office 2008).
Here is what I had to do - as well as the sync options being checked in Entourage.
With the Exchange support in iPod Touch V2.2 or whatever it is now - most current version of the software - which is what I am using - not cracked - all legit.
Enable "over the air" syncing of the Calendar and sync it that way - and even if you do not want to stay that way - just do it once - after you have added something to the calendar on the iPod and it will appear in Entourage. Then turn "off" over the air syncing and sync with the cable and it will stick.
Not sure in reading the thread if anyone was syncing using the iPod cable - as I was to sync - but if you are you will still have the problem of the items added in iPod not showing in Entourage.
If you sync "over the air" there is no problem that I have found.
Hope this helps.
