Need to rip some video from my trusty camcorder

I have a little dilema. I dont use final cut pro or iMovie ever but today i need to! i found some great old footage i wanted to rip to my computer. whats the best free application to use for ripping over firewire?? i dont know if iMovie is still free or not, i'm a little bit of a newb at this. I just want to rip this video! lol

If iMoive is on your mac, then go for it.

Open iMovie

Plug in your camera via Firewire turn it on and import to iMovie

I dont have iMovie but its all good. I actually went to the store and just bought final cut pro just cause thats how impatient i am haha thanks though :)
