ALTERNATIVE SO SO SOLUTION

I have had my macbook pro for a year and a half. Exactly 6 months after my purchase expired colorful vertical lines beeping in 3's randomly occurred one night and wouldn't shut off until my battery died. I read a lot of internet posts about how its either a graphics card issue or a ram issue and I then decided to go to apple.
I went to the apple store and they had not had this occur before in that specific store so he took my computer to the back ran a logic board,Ram, Utility and Diagnostic Test....Ending result...Nothing showed up as a problem. He then told me that since I do NOT have a warranty I can ship my mac in to apple for $280 and they will fix the problem. I did not do that due to lack of funds, however I have learned that if you keep your mac constantly running without turning it off an if your screen brightness is set to high this will make it happen more often. So my solution has been to keep it on 8 bars screen brightness and turn it off when not being used. Hope this helps
