Those cases may be good for convenience and slimness, but what everybody who buys these seems to forget is that protection for the phone when you drop it should be your priority.
With a Hard case, if you drop the phone on a hard surface, the hard case will transfer the shock to the phone.
With rubber or leather, the shock will be absorbed when it hits a hard surface.
I still love my iSkin revo case. It comes with both 1 anti-glare film for the glass as well as a plastic cover for the screen that snaps on back of the rubber case when you're using the phone. So you're getting triple protection.
Also, i've found that with the phone in the case, I can use Apple's universal dock without removing the case at all.
It fits and syncs perfectly.
Thanks,

Perhaps they aren't forgetting that; perhaps they've simply decided that the chances of a blow so severe it breaks the phone are low enough that they just want something to protect against scratches and minor dents.
That said, this was a roundup of hard shells, so it covered only hard shells ;) We've also covered many other types of cases, including the iSkin Revo.

My favorite iPhone case is the Griffin Form: a two-piece, leather-covered hard plastic shell that snaps together front-to-back without scratching the iPhone. This case may add slightly more bulk than some others, but looks very stylish and does a fabulous job of protecting the iPhone.

I just received the SwitchEasy Capsule today. I was intrigued by the accessories mostly and the military green color. The case itself is great. I liked that it came with the headphone adapter.
Overall though, I'm disappointed in my purchase because of the screen protectors. I applied one of the three "membranes" and followed the instructions that came with the case. It isn't adhesive, which I thought I would like.
But when you start using the phone, the membrane sticks to the screen and suctions itself where you've pressed so it looks like there's water underneath the membrane. It is easily removed by lifting up on the membrane but I have to do it almost every time I use the phone because it bothers me. I suppose some people could live with it but it's too annoying for me.
I tried their suggested tip of applying some baby powder on the membrane but it didn't help much and decreased the overall "sharpness" of how it looked w/o applying the baby powder.
Because of that issue, I'll probably return it and go back to my Eco Shield which I liked just fine before I bought this one.

if you need belt clips or arm bands...the Mophie Run system allows your iphone to quickly interchange with a belt holster or an armband without changing the case
Mophie.com
This is probably the most innovative case out there because it can interchange mounting systems.

I've got this* pouch for a while now:
* http://www.hard-graft.com/multi.html
It's a nice simple design made out of thick felt ... and I love the leather card holder feature, a great way to slim the pocket on a night out.
the only downside on ordering was the shipping time - it took about two weeks to arrive...
