I have been having trouble putting images from Safari into Microsoft Office 2008. When I copy an image from Safari and paste it into Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, I only get the web address of the image. However if I paste the same image in another program such as Preview, I get the image. This problem is happening only from Safari to Microsoft Office, because if I copy an image from a program like Preview, it works fine. Also, I cannot drag an image into the documents, since sometimes I need documents for Windows computers without Quicktime.
I have researched this problem on the internet and know that other face the same problem. But, I have not found a solution yet. Is there a fix to this problem?
Thank you.

They are all real images. Just copying from Safari to Microsoft Office doesn't work, but other than that, everything else is fine. The images are real.
This image shows what comes up if I try to copy and paste images from Macworld.com into PowerPoint. The top link is what I get if I try to paste the Macworld logo. The bottom link is what I get if I try to paste the image from the featured story. !Office Bug Example.tiff!

-Hi,
As you probably know many of the images on the Macworld site are actual hot links which will take you to another website. If you want that image try holding down the Control key and 'then' click on the image-->Copy Image. To double check you have the image look at the Clipboard while in the Finder.

I'm having this problem with all pictures, not just those that link to another webpage, and I make sure I am pressing "Copy Image", not "Copy Image Address" or "Copy Link". Also, this problem only happens when copying images from Safari and pasting into Microsoft Office, nowhere else. Copying and pasting everywhere else works fine.

Thank you, paste special works. Now is there a way to do that without going through the whole edit menu and then the paste special window, like a keyboard shortcut?
Yes, No to the 2 questions.
YES...Word and Excel (I know nothing about PowerPoint — it is an instrument of the devil) can be customized. The Paste Special command can be added to the menu, the toolbar, and as a keyboard command. “Help” should show you how to do each — it’s too long and convoluted for me to explain.
NO...I didn’t see any direct entry command for Paste as Picture, so I think you must go through the Paste Special box by menu, toolbar, or keyboard. You could setup a macro for this, but I think it is overkill.
A bit off topic…did you know that the Keyboard & Mouse control panel allows you to add keyboard commands through the Mac OS for any menu item?
