I propose that Macworld’s product reviews boldly and prominently start with a chart, when relevant, that enumerates each and every feature in the Windows version that is crippled, buggy or omitted from the Mac version.
The chart’s columns could be something like:
* Feature name and/or description
* Codes for omitted, buggy, clumsy, etc.
* Rating of importance or utility value for each feature.
* Does this missing or faulty feature limit just specific uses of the product or does it make the whole product NO GO for Macs.
* Does the product literature or box make false or misleading claims on Mac implimentation of this feature
* At the top or bottom of the chart, clearly identify the whole product as "NO GO due to indifferent or dismissive Macintosh implimentation"
Such a chart would help Mac users choose products, motivate them to boycott vendors who take us and our growing market share and clout for granted, and educate the non-tech corporate managers (lawyers, accountants and marketing types) that their tech people have been lying to them about why Mac users are so pissed at them. The last point is important because all these non-tech managers know is quarterly financial results, the value of their own stock options, and whose butt to kick in their own organizations...that is once Macworld shows them that butts do need kicking.
