im trying to find a program like microsoft publisher for mac. i need to make a booklet and i know that indesign will work but i want something fast and easy.

InDesign would be fast and easy, but expensive. If your looking for a free alternative try Scribus.

You have a few options,

Microsoft Word will work, in 2004 find the templates in the Gallery at startup, in 2008 there is the gallery thing that is below all the toolbars.

Apple's Pages, part of the iWork suite works very well, i have used it in the past to make booklets, you can get a 30 day free trial with access to all features.

Open Office works, it is free.

NeoOffice, works, it is free and based off of Open Office
