I have a macbook and for the most part I love it. However my husband has a PC set up to a wireless modem. We have an "older" Lynksys router.

1. It wont allow me to set up a secured network. If I put a password on the network the PC will not work. If I leave it unsecure I have to manually connect to the router every day. However, when the network is unsecure the PC works fine.

My ultimate goal is to set up a secure network where both computer can work wirelessly without having to manually connect each time.

Is there a certain router that will allow me to do this?
Road Runner provided us with this router when we signed up several years ago. So do I need to go through them?

HElp please!

You have three variables, all three center around the question of: can the Mac, PC and rouuter handle WEP or (preferably) WPA encryption? Some older routers can't, some older wireless cards can't. Usually, there are firmware and software updates that will cure the problem. However, some just won't play nicely with each other. Check the router first, google it up or if you have a lifetime to wait, contact RoadRunner!
