key won't function on MacBook Pro

My MacBook Pro (OSX 10.5) all of a sudden lost the use on the "c" key on the keyboard. I threw away a couple prefs and nothing happened. I finally started up under a different user account and the "c" key worked fine. Did I accidentally hit some weird combination of keys to disable that particular key or is this a fluke in the laptop itself?
