I've created some DVDs and have received some interest from friends in Europe. I converted some disks to PAL, but they still have region 1. How do I strip the region code or change it to region 2? These are not commercial DVDs, just home grown. I'm using iDVD HD (06) and Panther 10.4.11 on a G4.

MacTheRipper, even the old freebie version 2.6.6, will happily remove
region-restrictions. Get it here:

Thanks Al, I ran MTR and now I have a region-free file, but how do I convert this file into a master cdr or img with Disk Utility so I can burn the region-free disks? What am I missing?

You're missing Toast (or its cheaper little brother Popcorn).

Set the "mode" to VIDEOTS, drag the VIDEOTS folder into
the main window, and press the big red button.

No need to mess with Disk Utility or disk images. Toast does
all the heavy lifting for you.

Now that I know how to do it, I've learned that it wasn't necessary. When I produced the DVDs on my G4, it made them region-free. I discovered this when MTR did not detect a region code. Nowhere could I find the notice that Apple makes home-grown DVDs (iDVD) region-free. In iDVD go File->Get Disc Info->Regions. Thanks, tho, for the lesson.
