I am thinking of getting the Apple TV. I looked up the terms of my ISP and found that I am limited to 10GB of data usage in a month.Likely I would only watch one movie (I'm a rental guy - I would never purchase a movie) per week this way. For the sake of argument, just so I have a rough idea of how much of my data usage I would reach, could someone let me know what the file size for a 90 minute HD movie would be?

Thanks

John

An HD movie rental from the iTunes Store is probably 3-5GB.

Yikes!! I guess that if I'm going to get the Apple TV, I will have to upgrade to the HighSpeed Ultra package offered by my ISP which allows for 20GB of data usage. What if I get the plain vanilla version of the movie Jon - what would be the file size in that case? What are the terms of your ISP service in your neck of the woods? Is there a cap on downloading or is it unlimited?

Thanks

You can see how large a movie file is from within iTunes and on the Apple TV. A standard def movie is 1GB-2GB depending on length.

I would never use an ISP that had a download limit. I download 20GB of data in a few days :)
