Okay, so i got them to work (i had to go into sound prefs and select it) but the sound out put is kinda low, even on full volume.
Any solution to this? Maybe something to enhance the volume output of the computer itself?

Do you mean "M7963 Apple PowerMac G4 Cube Pro USB Speakers?"
See this blurb:
http://www.welovemacs.com/m7963.html
An MBP doesn't have the horsepower to drive the speakers via the
USB port.

Hi
This is...Well...by design. Since they are bus powered they require notably more power from the computer. Apple needed to 'beef up' the output power of the Power Mac G4s onboard USB ports to properly power them. I don't know the exact power diffeences between the Cube and standard USB ports but there is a difference and your lower maximum volume has been well documented by others who have tried them on other Macs, including the USB ports on Apple's displays, ... I was going to try such at one point way back when.
