Macworld Forums: Transfer printer settings in Leopard? - Macworld Forums

I'm moving to a newer, faster Macbook and am wondering if there is any way to transfer all the settings for all the printers I have established for my current Mac to my new one? I work in several locations and would like to go with all the settings already there instead of having to take time at each location to set up its printer.

AppleCare says that it can't be done under Leopard, but didn't explain why. Does anyone understand how printers are set up in Leopard?

How are you transferring the info to the new Mac? It would seem to me that if you set up the old Mac in Target Disk Mode, everything would transfer over, including any supported printer settings. Migration Assistant should take care of this for you.

I used the Migration Assistant but the printers did not migrate to the new computer. I'm pretty sure that it was the same when I first installed Leopard on the older computer. I think that they did transfer when I updated from Panther to Tiger.
Maybe somebody can explain how printer are installed differently under Leopard than under the older versions of OS X.
