Just a few things that I don't agree with:
"Duplicate the track and offset the new track ever so slightly. It’s tricky to move a track by tiny increments in GarageBand, but it can be done. You need to zoom the timeline way in to do it."
This technique, by definition, changes the timing and phase correlation between the original and shifted tracks. Depending on the difference in timing you will either hear double attacks on the notes or phase problems. In some cases, phasing can give you a thin and brittle sound instead of a "full" or "fat" sound. It can be a useful tool if that's the effect you want, but I would definitely recommend playing along with the original track for doubling. Either do that or add harmony. In my opinion, do the extra work of playing it twice since good timing can make your song tight and coherent.
Here I simply disagree with the author's method of making a guitar sound like a bass:
"Activate the Equalizer. Boost the bass a bit to cut the midrange."
If you want to cut the midrange then cut the midrange. Adjust the parameter you want to change, not the other ones around it. In this case, boosting the bass is kind of like cutting both the mids and highs.
I know that's a lot of criticism, but I think there are much better ways of getting the sound you want. Not that you shouldn't try both ways. These are methods that work for me. Do what sounds best for you.

hello I wonder if is there a way to use a lot of .wav sounds as instrument, like the hiphop kit, or rock kit instrument. I have a lot of snares kick sounds in wav format, and I want to include all of them in an instrument, and each key will reproduce one of the sounds like the hip hop kit.
is there a way to do that, it would be wonderful that someone explain it
PD: sorry for my English but im from Guatemala and we speack Spanish.
