I recently switched over to VMWare Fusion from Parallels and I am really happy with it, mainly for it's advanced networking features. However, it annoys me how Fusion doesn't automatically remember the view mode you were in during your last use. In Parallels, if you were in full screen mode when you suspended it, it would automatically put you back in that mode. With Fusion, it puts me in Windowed mode whenever I launch it. Anyone know a way to get it to remember?

Hi there

If You are running on Leopard, You can to record an action on the Automator.
If not, It's possible to write a script on AppleScript...

So tell us what your situation is and if you need more help

Thank you. I am running 1.5.4 on my MBP so that should work. I don't have a lot of experience with Automator, but I'll give it a shot. If you have any more tips on how to do it exactly, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I believe it's just looking complicated but it's very simple...

Before You starting You have to quit the VMWare Fusion, and it will be better to close or hide all the other windows.

So this is the way:
1. Open the Automator and choose custom

2. press on Record (now the Automator will hide the window and record Your commands)

3. Lunch Your Windows via VMWare Fusion like the usual way and set it to a full screen.

4. Press to stop the recording (on upper left corner), now you will see the Automator with a new action (Watch Me Do)
Set the Timeout to zero and the Playback Speed to Maximum.

5. Save it as an application where do you want. You suppose to lunch the VMware Fusion via this application to cause the view to full screen mode.

I hope it's not too long

Good Luck
