I wonder how many man-hours are being lost in the working world while WE wait on the 2.0 updates to be completed or even stand in line and deal with a frustrating ATT rep for one the new iPhones ? for those of us not so lucky to have an Apple store yet in their state!

Any word on if the official release 'build' is the same build that was being downloaded yesterday? I installed yesterday and I'm wondering if I should wipe it and start over with the official install. Any insight?

I downloaded 2.0 and it was updating iPhone, but then when it reset, it just keeps trying to access the iTunes store and only has the emergency call only mode on the screen. I am getting this error: http://twitpic.com/3jvo

I had installed the iPhone 2.0 software, the thing rebooted, and now it's stuck in "slide for emergency" mode and iTunes is stuck at the "Accessing iTunes Store..." screen. Is this happening with everyone else?

Right now Apple pulled the 2.0 update. I am told 1.1.4 is the current version. Looks like demand is giving the Apple servers fits.

Ugghh... please get me and hundreds of others some info on the iTunes is Unavailable message I am getting. I have been trying to update all morning and still nothing. Sometimes it tells me that the update is available, but I get a "Temporarily Unavailable, Try again Later message." What's wrong Apple? Not only that, but sometimes it says that there is no software update, and 1.1.4 is the current version, and that is obviously false. Then it will flick back to the first scenario- and now after a full morning of trying, nothing.

Yeah, happening to a lot of people. The question I have is what am I supposed to do? Will it eventually connect? Anyone have any experience with updates gone bad in the middle?

I downloaded the update through iTunes as well and am now stuck in the same "emergency" screen as others. iTunes says the network connection was reset. Seems like the wall was hit when the phone tried to verify it's AT&T account. Would not be surprised if the problem is with AT&T servers and not Apple's.

You guys should try the link from yesterday's post for a direct download. Follow the instructions in the comments for how to install it.

@alexhorseman - Did you have to do anything magical - or did it just clear up on on it's own? I haven't unplugged my iPhone since trying to install the update; and my iTunes has been "Accessing iTunes Store" since then.

I was getting the neverending "Waiting for iTunes Store" but now I'm just hit with an unknown error (-9838) that tells me there was an error at the iTunes store. Try again later. I guess this is a good time to just watch the monkey playing symbols in my head and exercise patience..........
