It says, "Please try again later." So I'll keep trying! :-)

iTunes must really be swamped. I just tried to purchase a song and it was unable to complete the transaction.

@mattlatmatt
I would not be able to apply the leaked download because I cannot access the summary tab for my iPhone in iTunes. http://www.macworld....7/iphone20.html

Ok. so I went back and forth unplugging the thing till the message didnt pop up and I got back into the Accessing iTunes thing. Then about 3 minutes later it just magically completed itself. Hope you guys have the same luck.

I stopped it and tried again, and it immediately gave me an error a couple of times, which I wasn't getting before... then... the third time I tried it, it said Accessing iTunes Store and then went right through... didn't do anything special except cancel the attempt and tried again.

Successfully accessed iTunes Store and now have a pretty message saying iPhone activations are unavailable at this time. Please try again later. Guess I have no phone for today. I shoulda known better and waited to do the update.

Do NOT update to 2.0 at this time. Apple is having a number of server issues. Consequently the update hangs and is causes numerous problems if you attempt to update: Wait messages, Errors, unending sync that never releases, looped access to iTunes and update.
To control the issues, Apple has put a hold on the 2.0 update. To avoid problems and frozen iphones, wait 24-48 hours to attempt an update.
You are not losing much to wait a day or two. If you have a frozen iPhone or error messages, try a reset.

I'm attempting to update to 2.0 now. But the update seems to be hanging. After downloading the software, I received an onscreen message in itunes not to disconnect my iphone. Now I see a screen with the word in "Iphone" in large type in itunes. And there is a a pic of the usb cable connecting to the itunes icon on my iphone. Where the swipe application on the iphone rests, there is a message flashing: "in case of emergency" ....it changes to the same message in various languages.

From reading the previous onscreen messages, my iphone has been restored and I suppose it is attempting to retrieve my iphone settings from itunes.

I'm concerned because the last part of the process has been happening for a half hour. So it looks like on going to try to call Apple Care. Wish me luck.
