I can't get Remote to work. I enter the passcode in iTunes, it says "Verifying Remote passcode" for a while, and then eventually iTunes gives up.

I agree with Dan. This is a terrific application and God-send for AppleTV owners. I was beginning to feel is was easier to thumb through my 900 CDs, pick one and play it in the CD player faster than finding it on AppleTV.
NOW it works like it's supposed to. I love sitting on my back deck and using the iPhone to change songs and playlists from the AppleTV that's in the Living Room playing through my remote speakers on the deck.
VERY cool.

My library name comes up on the phone, but when I select it, it can't find it. It doesn't make any sense.

I love the new Remote application. However, although I can adjust volume on my MBP, I still must use my receiver remote to control the volume through my remote speakers.
I've tried activating both Computer and remote Air Tunes speakers, as well as individually with the same results.
I am using a 1st generation Airport Express (802.11g) Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro (802.11g) and a Time Capsule (802.11g/n) as my base station
Anyone else running into this problem?

"I can't get Remote to work. I enter the passcode in iTunes, it says "Verifying Remote passcode" for a while, and then eventually iTunes gives up."
I have the exact problem on my (wired) Mac Pro. (should work with ethernet, right?) I enter the passcode into iTunes, it verifies for a bit ... and then nothing. I'm thinking it must be something with my ABS (N) firewall settings.
I'd sure love to get this to work.

Works like a charm on my Apple TV. I can see some feature additions that I would appreciate in an update (like navigating the ATV menu itself). This would allow access to podcasts on the device that are not in the library (similar to what Dan Frakes notes in the article).
Still, Remote instantly improves the value of my Apple TV.
Finally, the cool factor is pretty off the charts. I can't wait until friends are over and I start controlling the TV via phone from another room.

I really want to activate this new remote application to control my itunes. I downloaded the application on my phone and when i go to settings for adding the library it asks me to enter the four digit pass code in itunes devices list. I couldnt find any place where to enter this passcode to pair the itunes and iphone. Can anyone help me for activating this feature.

THanks

Your phone should appear under Devices in the iTunes source list. Click on it, and you can enter the code.

As I said, I wasn't able to get it to verify the passcode. This was on my MacBook Pro. I tried it this morning on my Mac Pro, and it worked right away. Then I tried the MBP again... and it worked! So I have no idea what the problem was.

"As I said, I wasn't able to get it to verify the passcode. This was on my MacBook Pro. I tried it this morning on my Mac Pro, and it worked right away. "
Mine is the exact opposite. Can't get it to work on my Mac Pro, but it shows up immediately on my Macbook. (don't have any music on the MB, but at least it shows up!)
This is likely related but I also just discovered I can't load my Mac Pro's shared iTunes on my Macbook. The library shows up but never loads ... eventually suggesting I should try opening up a certain port. I don't know if that would be from 10.5's firewall or my Airport Base Station.
It also must be related to another problem where I can't print using my Mac Pro's shared printer from the Macbook. If I connect the printer to my ABS, it works fine though.
I'm not used to this ... I'm spoiled by Apple products "just working"! :)
Anyone?

Go to system preferences, security and in the "Firewall" tab, you have three choices. "Allow all incoming connections", "Allow only essential services", "Set access for specific services and applications".
I had mine set on "essential services" setting so I clicked on "specific services and applications", click on plus button below empty white box, then I added iTunes. This immediately fixed my "cannot find playlist" problem
Check and see if this helps....not even Apple bothers to tell you about this in their Support sections
Good Luck!

The next cool step would be if Apple added the ability to stream any audio and (especially) video content to the iPhone or iPod Touch via your WiFi connection. Think of how great it would be to view or listen to any of your iTunes content anywhere around the house without having to sync it to your handheld device first.
Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestion, vansmac but I've already tried that - no go. Methinks I have deeper sharing issues.
