Hi all,

I'm new to the Mac world (corny = yes.) and don't know where to go for help. I've had my 24" iMac for about 3 months now, and today when I turned it on, my ical icon was a bit funky. See through. When I open it, it goes back to it's normal icon. Can you recommend a fix, or a good forum to go to to talk to someone about it?

I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm talkin about!

This is a good forum (but remember it's a forum so the answers might not come as quickly as you want).

Have you done the requisite repair permissions etc. already?

-Hi,

Since the apps in the Dock are an alias try quitting iCal-->drag the funky iCal icon to the Desktop (so it'll poof away) then go into your Applications folder and drag the iCal app into the Dock for a new alias. That is a start...

Hi guys!

Thanks for the replies! I just didn't know if this was a 'tech help' forum or if there was a more specific place!

So the whole drag it to the desktop, trash it, and repost it in the dock worked :) I'm the proud owner once again of a totally visible calendar icon!

Thanks so much for both of your timely responses and willingness to help!

- Matt

Hi -Matt,

Glad you got fired up. The Macworld forums are for tech support (among other things) and also Apple Discussion Boards. There are lots of Mac support on the Internet. Like if you install Adobe software, they'll have a tech forum da-boot. Most software vendors will have discussion forums directly on their home websites.

Try relaunching the dock, simple, yet it may work. Open terminal and enter:
killall Dock

it will relaunch the dock, it may work.
