Hmm, I too am wondering if Apple has considered including the USA in their plans. As far as I'm concerned, the iPhone 3G hasn't hit the USA market yet. I was even in line on launch day, and I still don't have one. Those other countries will probably get one before I do. What happened to taking care of your own? Come on Apple.

With a year old iphone that hasn't worked right since the 2.0 update, and stores that have been out of stock for new phones for about the last month (with the exception of about 3 or 4 days), it's nice to know that they are looking to pat themselves on the back again. It just seems that with Apple these days EVERYTHING is about the launch. There's no stock yet, nothing really works right yet, but isn't it really neat that so many people were willing to wait in ridiculously long, slow, hot lines for a phone?

This is interesting. All I saw amongst the comments about the new iPhone prior to release day were all the "no big deal" attitudes and the smug commitments NOT to buy one.

If I were to search the archives, would I find YOUR pseudonym amongst that happy bunch?

Sounds like it's time to dump my stock. Apple has turned into AT&T's cellular arm: poor service and little substance in their product.
What happened to all the hype about a revamped laptop line? What about an improved AppleTV service? What about new COMPUTER products that made them who they are today?
Innovation only takes you so far. Looks like the ride may be over for Apple...

Um, no. You would not. I am a happy owner of a first gen iPhone currently running 2.0 and I even worked for Apple at one time. You would not find me complaining about the new iPhone 3G itself. I have been waiting for it's release ever since Apple announced the FIRST iPhone because I knew the 3G version would be following shortly after. What I AM complaining about, is perhaps Apple's biggest marketing blunder in their history. Simple solution: Pre-order Sales. Sell more, have happier customers. Now that I see them expanding to the rest of the world before even finishing the job in their own country, I'm just a little concerned. Perhaps they should have prioritized better.

Awww. . . Guess that means you didn't buy Apple Care for your iPhone. Buck up, pal.

This yammering is like complaining about your favorite restaurant running out of prime rib. Too bad, pal. Arrived a little late, eh?

Well, they'll get/make more. But this time the whole world is waiting and that means there are also time zones to contend with, so the US can just get used to a little waiting in line, too.

They HAVE prioritized better, and that's why you're waiting a bit. Take a look beyond your own nose and national boundaries. Apple had the bright idea about getting into the phone industry and came out with a great phone. Just how are they going to sell 10M phones if they don't aggressively target the whole planet? So they're (temporarily) victims of their own success. There are far worse things under the sun.

They'll ramp up production, especially in light of initial sales and their general recent financial success. But there's a momentum factor to contend with. You can't just flick a switch and expect new manufacturing facilities to pop up out of thin air.

Let me know when you dump your stock and I will buy them. Obviously people don't see the long term effect of the iPhone and new macs that are coming out soon. Once the shortage is over even people with 2 shares will jump back on the Apple bandwagon, Apple is one of the best stocks at this time to have, if something should ever happen to Steve Jobs, I would sell before it happens and buy after it happens. But I hate to think of anything like that!

Apple Inc. is a world company not just an American company, please get serious. The sun does not just rise and set on the great U.S. of A.

I'm glad that Apple is no longer giving the U.S.A. such a high priority. Apple is a multi-national company; no one territory should be favoured heavily over the others, nor should other areas have to wait unless it's a legal or licensing (or similar) issue.
