Macworld Forums: Help with battery on 15'' Alu G4 - Macworld Forums

So I left my computer in sleep mode (lid closed) for a bit too long and drained the battery flat.

I read on Apple's support site that the battery puts itself into a safe mode when completely drained, to preserve itself for future charges. They say the battery should exit this mode shortly after AC power is connected and the battery should start charging. Well mine still says "Not Charging" in the battery window.

I have tried restarting the machine and reseting the power management (holding the power button for 5 second with the machine off). Neither have helped. My battery was in fair health before this incident and I really hope it did not take a dump on me.

Any advice is always appreciated!
