Interesting that you note this camera's unsuitability for bootlegging movies and concerts.

Good review. I'm grateful you included that it's "dead-simple to edit your video on any nearby computer (or at least one you’re authorized to install software on)." That last detail is key.

Flip cameras would be brilliant tools for teachers and students, if only a user did not need admin access to install software. Many (most?) teachers and students are faced with computers that they cannot install software on.

If Pure Digital could fix that issue, Flip cameras would be very useful to many more people. Maybe software that didn't need installation, or at least, could be installed on a drive that isn't controlled by admin access.

I've tried this model, and a Flip UltraHD. Both seemed to require some software be installed, requiring admin access. The Mino I have in hand right now mounts as if it's a hard drive, which is great! We could drag video files off of it onto the Mac. I don't recall the UltraHD showing up as a hard drive, but I'll have a chance to try one again soon. I'll check for that.
