Why can't I delete a folder of 70GB worth of images?

Yeah, deleting in terminal can get pretty scary, i'm even scared of rm-rv and that's supposed to be safe. I just stay away from it.

How does one do that--boot from an external? I have my machine backed up on a Time Machine disk and I guess that's the external I'd use, but what's the correct moethod for botting from it? Thanks.

If it's a time machine disc, then boot from the install disc and select 'boot from time machine backup'
