I have a Hitachi 160GB hard drive installed in my MacBook Pro. I'm looking to upgrade and was considering Samsung's Spinpoint M6 500GB mobile hard drive. It's a bit pricey, when you consider I can get an external 1TB from LaCie for that much, but a bigger internal is what I am looking for.
So my questions to everyone are as follows:
# Is this drive fully compatible with my 15" MacBook Pro 2,2 and Leopard? I know the Hitatchi 500GB drive isn't if only because of form-factor so that's why I ask.
# What would my battery be like after installing this drive? Currently I get 2.5-3 hours, depending on how I use it and such. Most of the time I'm plugged in so this isn't a big issue but still, curious.
# How is Samsung as a hard drive manufacturer? The only ones I know are Western Digital and Seagate and I'd only choose to buy Seagate after my last WD purchase.
Basically, what I'm looking for is any reason why I might not want to buy this, specifically in relation to hardware compatibility but also in usability.
