Its just that you have to really mess up to loose your iTunes data, thats all. Its set up pretty reliable.

i knew i hadnt lost it...i just didnt know where it was because the external drive it is on is right under the macbook and it was on...blue lights and all...so i didnt understand why it wasnt showing on my TV...and when looking at the movies tab in itunes...it looked like it normally did...until i went to line view and then i could see that there was the question mark in front of the file name...and thats when i knew it was not mounted...and had to restart the hard drive and restart itunes so it could see it...but my issue was there was no indication on the movies screen where the box covers were that they were not mounted...like in line view you get that indicator

now i understand what you were talking about...when you were talking about backing up and updates...i was like what does that have to do with what i said...
