As I started a thread earlier about my brand new MacBook crashing over everything (opening disk utility, a spotlight search, trying to install a new app), but didn't get an answer really, I just thought - maybe the application CandyBar did this?

I changed all my folder images and icon images to ones from CandyBar, so maybe that's the issue? That makes sense, right? Spotlight is trying to do a search, but all these funky images are making it do something or other to crash?

Any ideas?

To test this, use CandyBar's Restore feature to restore all your icons to their originals; see if your problems go away.

You know how everything was crashing? I should have made it clear - I couldn't even open up CandyBar! It wouldn't open! I used the restore disks to use disk utility, repair permissions, all that... no help.

So, I reinstalled the OS, and now everything is ok!

DO NOT MESS WITH CANDYBAR!
