I'm getting a new MacBook for a client who tends to be rather rough on his equipment; his old iBook's case has a couple of chunks missing (he doesn't know how it happened). So I'm looking for some protection for the MacBook. He'll be carrying it in a backpack, so what's needed is some kind of tough sleeve/case that fits the MacBook itself; no need for pockets for power adapter, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've got the Tucano SecondSkin and it's very good. I use it just to store it in the house when I am not around or when I am out somewhere and not using it in my backpack. It fits the macs perfectly because it was desinged for them. I've got a macbook pro 17inch. Not too expensive either. $30 hereat macmall

Not sure if you're still looking for a sleeve - but check out Simon & Cleo. They have some neat stuff. I did not find any reviews for their products on Macworld - worth looking at. I am liking the Pure Rebel laptop sleeve and they just added them for the new Aluminum Macbook.

Hey! I saw that you recommended Simon & Cleo and i checked them out. I loved their stuff! I got the Imperial Knight sleeve (http://www.simonandcleo.com/product_p/cbr009.nb.htm) from them and its amazing!

I'll be putting their wallet on my "christmas want list"! They have a matching wallet for the sleeve i got!! (http://www.simonandcleo.com/product_p/cbr009.wl.htm)

thanks for the recommendation!
