Obtaining free GarageBand sounds

Yep, that did it. Just about caused a heart attack though. Pressed a few keys on the onscreen keyboard and there was no sound, so I figured perhaps my sound level was too low and cranked it up to max.
It turns out that the keys in the middle produce no sound. When I thoughtfully clicked a leftmost key I was rocketed out of my chair. Guess it's compatible. :)
Thanks, Chris.

DLSMusicDevice has been horribly buggy for years now. It drops out your track randomly and was so bad that Andy Drabble stopped updating SoundFontSynth.
DLSMusicDevice's major flaw (besides the bugs) was its inability to choose Instruments within the SoundFont. Your only choice was the Instrument that was first in line--whereas it might include 100 various instruments. Now I have heard that you can change it via a keyboard controller call, but all I have is a 49e and it is not exactly a simple process.
Currently, the only way to get SoundFonts to behave properly in GarageBand 4 is to install Crystal Soft Synth. However, you have quite a bit of hoops to jump through to get that to happen.
