More Ram For my macbook

I have a macbook and i was wondering how to get more ram for it, besides through Apple because as you probably know A macbook only comes with 1 gig standard and Apple Ram is about $100 A gigabyte. Im not sure why they didnt make it 2 gigs atleast, standard? So where is a reliable place to get cheap Ram cards? Please help me
