When I connect my iPhone, (this happened with my original iPhone and 3G), to my G5 iPhoto boots up rather than iTunes. Is there a fix or setting change for this? Anyone, anyone, Bueller....Bueller?

iPhoto always boots up because it reads the iPhone as a camera. However, it should ALSO start-up iTunes. I'm not sure if there is any way to keep iPhoto from opening, so just quit it.

I have the same issue, very annoying indeed... especially since I have a ton of photos on an aging G5 which takes some for iphoto to boot. The only way to stop it is to go into the iPhoto prefs and change the "connecting camera opens" option to "no application". Though this isn't a great workaround as now when you plug in your real camera nothing will happen!

I just gave up and now just keep my iPhone dock plugged into a wall outlet and only do a sync every week or so.

Thanks for your reply R,
I realize that the iPhone is recognized as a camera and that's why it boots iPhoto when it is connected. Maybe I should have been more specific in asking why iTunes doesn't boot when the iPhone (3G) is connected?
