I know that in Internet Explorer when you type for example, "yahoo" and press CTRL+ ENTER you get the http://www. and .com added so you go directly to yahoo.com without typing .com

I have seen this feature in Safari by just pressing enter after typing "yahoo". I read about it in different "tips" sites but it won't work on my MacBook running Safari 3.1.2. I press enter with just the name and all it does is.... http://www.yahoo/
It has no .com.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Thanks

I checked on my safari imputes and could not get it to "NOT" fill in the .com. You possibly have the Yahoo/ in your previous recipients file in your mail. What that file does is keep a copy of addresses you have previously sent to looked for. And when you start typing it again it fills in the rest. To check this, go into your mail, under windows and click on previous recipients. This is also a good way to "clean out" a lot of stuff in your address files. Just delete them.

I thought about that too. One thing is that I don't use Mail, it Gmail for me :)

But along that same lines, I tried different sites other the Yahoo. Even the most random I had never gone to before. Still no luck.

One thing is, if I leave it for example, www.yahoo/ it will ponder for a while and eventually go to the .com version. it takes about an extra 10-15 seconds.

Thanks for the reply!
