Wow! What a great time to have plenty of cash in a weak real estate market!

And how efficient it must be to have a tried and true majorly standardized format for the stores!

Yeah, but does Apple buy real estate? I bet they just lease.

Just wondering... has an Apple Store ever closed? Not just relocated to a better spot in the mall, I mean really closed down for lack of sales.
Seems like sooner or later it would be inevitable. Maybe they'll over-saturate some region (like the Bay Area), or maybe growth will slow or even retreat, or maybe they'll discover they just picked the wrong mall or suburb and the foot traffic there doesn't pay the rent.
As George Harrison said, all things must pass.

Actually on Sunday we are getting the first semi-Apple Store in Tel Aviv, Israel. I use the term "semi" because the rights for sales of all Apple products in Israel are in the hand of a private company called iDigital. Still, in appearance, the store will be identical to all the Apple Stores worldwide.
