In my attempt to find out what I should be doing to keep my MBP OS X v. 10.4.11, if anybody has a soft side for a real hard-head, please read on.
If I want to install Titanium's Software : Applications, other than being able to narrow it down according to the OS I have, what are the other apps for if I want to use Onyx to clean out and keep my notebook running free from maintenance problems.
Should I install Onyx for Tiger or Maintenance is a System Maintenance and Cleaning utility for Mac OS X, or Deeper-a personalization utility for Mac OS X.
As far as Diskwarrior, is the app that is around $90 the one that is good for keeping the cop-webs out of the HD?
As far as Disk Utility, if I hit the HD and not the HD icon with the long number after it, when it is finished repairing permissions, is it important what the app reads about the repair?
Thanks

You are being sold by clever marketing schemes. While most of these applications you mention won't do any harm, most of them won't do any good either. Save your money and don't buy anything. Just leave your Mac on all night a few times a month and Mac OS X will do maintenance work for you. Ever wonder why Apple doesn't include a defrag program in Mac OS? Because it doesn't need it. As far as having files strewn about your computer, that's your responsibility to maintain your own files--no program will ever fully take care of that for you.
