To make a really long story only slightly long, I need to have Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash for a Web Design course I'm taking in November; I currently have CS2 Premium. I've been following the progress of Creative Suite 4, and if you look at the specs, it requires at least a G5. Still clinging to my PowerBook (donations are gladly accepted if anyone would like to bless me with a MBP :)) I was majorly bummed out. I've seen posts from folks who had just purchased CS3, wanting to know if they could upgrade to CS4 at no charge. So I did some searching: Turns out, Adobe is offering CS4 as a free upgrade to anyone who purchased CS3 after the announcement of CS4 for a limited time. I found this out through Safe Harbor Computers, who is publicly advertising this. I actually just bought CS3 Web Premium on Friday, they have a 1-2 day shipping policy, so it should be here Wednesday. I've been to Adobe's website and actually found the page to punch in what you have (it's called a Post Announcement Upgrade), and they'll ship you CS4 for free. Go to Adobe's CS4 FAQ and look under the policies section (or click here to go directly to the Service Note.
Hope this helps some people like it did me! Note: I DO NOT know when Adobe will shut down this program; I can only assume it's available as long as they are selling CS3. I will post back with details on how my upgrading goes.
