Dear Mac 911 people,



I recently received a graduation gift of the new Apple iPod Touch (Version 2.1.1) 8GB. The first thing it told me to do was sync it to the iTunes software on my computer via USB. As soon as I did that I was prompted to update my iTunes. And so I did....actually I ended up updating everything the system offered.



After updating, I tried opening iTunes....and the infamous prompt made it's appearance (DUN DUN DUN!!!!)

"The application iTunes quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and another applications are not affected. Click Reopen to open the applicatin again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.'

I am using a MacBook Pro Version 10.4.11 (OS X).

Kidding, but seriously I'm a Music Major and more than personal use it would be great to maximize and utilize my iPod Touch to it's highest potentials. I called Mac Support (wow.), and they told me to delete and reinstall iTunes....that didn't work. So now I turn my help to the real experts....THE INTERNETSSSS!

This might not be the correct answer/fix but its a place to begin. Often times troubleshooting a snag can NOT be fixed w/ the first attempt. That being said try:

Quit all applications: Drag the iTunes app from the Dock (poof it away). Go to Applications-->Utilities-->open and launch Disk Utility--> click on the Volume-->click on First Aid-->Repair Disk Permissions. Then drag a new alias from of iTunes from Applications into the Dock. Its worth a try...
