It's all very impressive; but I'm going to miss the old MacBook Pro keyboard.

Eh Blu Ray! I understand it is an expensive option but it should be at least a build to order option. Lame excuse, The SSDs are less important financial burdens than the blu-ray drive. Media users would prefer to shell out the extra fora Blu-ray rather than low storage volume SSDs. Great design revamp though. Loving the look.

Ok, so from what I understand, all of the new MBP's come with the 9400M video card and the 9600M is a seperate add-on that you have to buy?

I believe what Steve Jobs said was that all new MBPs will have both the 9400M integrated graphics as well as a discrete graphics card (9600M). The current MBP only has a discrete graphics card (8600M GT in my MBP's case).

Such great innovations and industry firsts with a dated two-tone look and glossy only display.

I was looking forward to spend some time at an Apple Store next week, while I am traveling, but since all the new products are just glossy and the nearby Apple Store is closed for renovation; I am not going to bother.

I just can't understand Apple's move to glossy only screens. It is so uncomfortable to use glossy screens and the comment in the Q&A that you can position a notebook any way you want doesn't hold water. You use it on a desk or table and the reflections and glare you get is what you have. I'm not going to move desks and close curtains like in the good old days with CRT monitors. Or shy from using a notebook outside. I have used several notebooks with a glossy screen and while not two screens are the same, they're a pain to use outside to downright unusable.

I don't think the lack of a Blu-Ray option is an issue, I'm kind of surprised that Apple didn’t take the MB Air route and make the inclusion of an optical drive an option.

Looks like no more Apple laptops for me :( The glossy screens is very distracting - I have used the most current iMacs in a university computer pod and switched over to the old iMac so I could see what I was typing.
Unfortunately that means I will have to buy a laptop (when the time comes) from another vendor and run windows or Linux. Thanks Apple.... looks like I switched to all-Mac computers too soon.

What about the 17" MacBook Pro? Isn't that part of the new lineup?

@atticusf: Dual FW800 you want? Don't you know there's a firewire shortage on? The new Macbooks don't even have ANY Firewire. Apparently they were all owned by Fannie Mae.

True that Metavoy. an external option at least.
