I read the article the same way you did. Apple's 90% smaller version was Apple's version, not an official part of the spec. And yes, anal-retentive is hyphenated, but not capitalized.

So , I just wanted to let you know that Atlona Technologies makes the only DVI to Displayport converter. Its called the AT-DP200, I just read a press release about it, and i am trying to let everyone know!
So I have been dealing with this issue for a while. and if you are like me you've read every forum, and have seen the same wall. Today I read a press release on google news that gives me a little more than hope:

So apparently Atlona has made a device to fix Apple's complete disregard for people like me who bought a MBP in late 2008 thinking that it would last them for a little while with out doing MAJOR upgrades. My only issue is that it does not go on sale for 6 weeks for today (7/30) I know, I called. but for 179 duckettes, I'm buying it.
