I am getting an xbox 360 soon and I am trying to find a way to hook my xbox up to a fast internet source so I can play xbox live. I have a windows computer on the 3rd floor of my house, my modem is also on the 3rd floor. I also have a mac in my basement with an airport extreme. My xbox will be in the basement, so i am afraid the connection would be bad from the 3rd floor of my house to my basement where my system is. Can i plug my xbox directly into my airport extreme with an ethernet cable to get internet and play online, or is that not a possible option for getting internet on my xbox.

You can either plug it in to your Airport Extreme directly or use a USB to WiFi adapter. Either will work fine, as long as there's signal for it to pick up. My Xbox 360 is connected to the Internet through my Airport Extreme Base Station, and it connects without any problem.

Thanks so much so if I set up my airport extreme with my company I should get a really good signal by just pluging it in and I wont need the wireless adapter made by xbox, to play online.
