You missed out my favourite, Easy Email. I tried Easy Writer first but then Easy Email came out with more options. Like some of the other, there is a subject box. You can also choose different fonts, sizes and colour. It also allows you to save frequently used replies or openings to a draft library and you can use it to write and reply to emails. On top of all this, it's free.

Mr. Frakes - you've left out my favorite, however, I've only discovered apps like these in the past three days...
"Easy Email" by rockifone.com - wide layout, drafts, different fonts, different colors, a Special Characters shortcut (to 40 unique characters) augmenting the press-character shortcut, and a slider that allows the writer to change the font size! And, the tap of a button pulls up a Draft Library of about a couple of dozen text snippets that can be appended and edited.
To top that off - it's currently free (at least Easy Email was still free when I checked a few minutes ago...). It doesn't have a spell checker, which would be really cool. There's my 2 cents!

So what's the bottom line on these apps? All the ratings are lukewarm. Call a winner here so I can try it. :)
Wide Email earned a four-mouse rating and I wrote, Wide Email is currently my favorite landscape-keyboard email app. I think that's pretty clear ;)

Chiming in after my earlier comment - I tried Firemail, then deleted it. The app seemed a little buggy after a few crashes, but I stuck with it until I added about five "snippits". Adding snippits added labelled "buttons" that just kept getting stacked upon one another - after adding 5 snippits, the sixth snippit button couldn't be selected - it was above any selectable portion of the screen in wide mode (the fifth button was partially obsured by the top of the iPhone's screen). Try it - you'll see what I mean...

While I had no crashes, I really missed that snippet problem (I had only 3 snippets so far). You are right about it ? that's nuts. Think I will go with Easy Mail as well.
