I would like my MacBook to access, via my wireless network, an
external USB hard drive that is connected to a Windows XP computer. The
windows computer and the drive show up in my MacBook Finder window, but
when I attempt to look at files on the HD, I get an error message
saying the drive cannot be mounted. I have set the HD to be shared in Windows XP.
I can share all other files (and the C: drive itself) on the XP computer with my Mac with no problem.
Any ideas?

I have the same issue, and from my google research, it seems that, so do other people without resolution up to this date.
As summary: WinXP machine has two shares for the network. One of the shares resides in the internal HD and the other one in a USB HD. 2008 Macbook can only access the share in the internal HD through the network.
I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter.
What other places are also good to post questions about MACs?
Thanks,
Flartrek
