A smart playlist with size = 0 accomplishes the same thing.
You can do a lot with smart playlists and a little creativity. For example, by using "is not" and gibberish in the description field, you can amass everything--music, podcasts, movies, audiobooks, etc.--into one list, to facilitate searching, compiling or whatever. Use your imagination.

Hate to admit it, but I've never known what a SMART list is... ditto for Smart Mailbox. Could someone please explain a bit. Thank you. P.S. I'm a new iMac user after 25 years with Microsoft... love Apple everything, but still so much to learn as Apple's thinking is quite different.
