Hi -
I have a largish document which includes photos and illustrations. It's been done in Word on my eMac. The file details are given as Microsoft Word RTF document Size 128.8 MB on disk (135.058.195 bytes).
I have downloaded "Stuffit" and have tested it. I get Stuffit X Archive 40.6 MB on disk (42.449.178 bytes).
Using a droplet I can get a zip archive file 46.1 MB on disk (48.381.720 bytes).
As sending the uncompressed file would clog up people's email boxes, can anyone recommend which would be the best format to use to send it to PC users?

Just to update you. I'm sending items using PDF and it seems to be working - even in Tasmania!
Thanks again.

Use .zip format. But rather than emailing the file directly, why not use a Web based service like YouSendIt.com? It's really much less hassle that way.
