Since April I have replaced two hard-drives, one power supply which was installed just after the alternate hard-drive on my
MAC was fried, don't know if second new main hard-drive was affected; I think it happened at Tricom who was supposed to be fixing the computer because it kept shutting down and who sent it home working (ha), and with problems continuing (was getting all signs when I tried to use spotlight), the genius bar did Archive & Install, after which I got code, when I tried to use spotlight. Type an a, get as; type c, get cd3{. hit delete, get f.

I have loved my MAC for five years, spent much money for repairs recently because I wanted it to work again, knew nothing about the workings of computers, but I'm learning now what can go wrong. Got almost helpful advice about resetting PRAM. Then I get the "code" again when typing for a few seconds, then back to +

Now I'm reading about CPU and logic boards, when all I really wanted to do was play with Photoshop and InDesign!
When I come back in my next life, I want to be a computer geek. As of now I'm approaching my 7th decade, enjoying my grandchildren, and hoping to be able to teach them how to use garageband.

Is my G5 fixable?

Because I spent about $700 on my old G5 and it worked for awhile before the keyboard went crazy, I thought it had to be something important. I am delighted to report that all I needed was a new keyboard, thanks to the genius bar at the Apple Store.

-Hi,

How do you like the new type of keyboard? Unless you've used them before...

Glad you're back in business. B-)
