Advice on Migrating a hard drive from a Pismo to an iBook

I inherited an G3 iBook with a 20 gig hard drive, around the same time as my trusty Pismo's screen bit the dust. I moved the 160 gig hard drive with OS 10.4 from the Pismo to the iBook, but I am getting random applications quitting. Any suggestions? Do I need to reinstall the OS? All or just part of it, non of it? Should I delete plists? Any suggestions?
