Set Mail?s sending account via keyboard shortcut

This tip is incredibly close to another one that I've been looking for.
For those of us who have multiple email accounts, and multiple calendars, is there a way to tie a calendar to an email account? i.e. event invitations sent from a home calendar would be sent using a home email account, likewise, event invitations sent from a work calendar or a work caldav account would be sent using the work email. Similarly, event invitations retrieved from a home account would show up as notifications in a home calendar, and invitations retrieved from a work account would show up as notifications in a work calendar.
I've looked (albeit not terribly hard) and haven't found anything to solve this yet. ...kind of a pain for clients to receive invites for a meeting coming from my personal email account.

An interesting side-effect of this is if you have random signature quotes in your email account you are selecting (I have 147) you can hit this keyboard combination multiple times and it will jump through your different signatures randomly. Pretty neat!
A while back I tried to create an Applescript that would select this particular pulldown menu. But there's a bug in Mail that doesn't allow Applescript to select it. This is the second best thing! :p

Keyboard shortcuts work for cocoa drop down menus in Tiger as well. I'm using them for custom text styles in the built-in text editor framework (TextEdit and any app which is using that framework). Just set them as global shortcuts.
The only problem is that these global shortcuts may regularly disappear from the System Preferences keyboard pane. I don't know what is causing this, but for me it happens both in Tiger and in Leopard, both PPC and Intel. So for the power user among you, it's a good idea to backup the NSUserKeyEquivalents dictionary from ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist as a separate plist file. In case your custom shortcuts should disappear, just copy & paste the dictionary using a plist editor. (In the meantime I actually stopped using the Keyboard Shortcuts pref pane altogether and I'm entering the shortcuts directly into the corresponding plist file...)

Very nice tip. Works like a charm.
What I really want to do is set custom headers specific to certain accounts. I still receive mail at an address from an old job. Because it's pretty spam-contaminated, I don't want to just forward everything over. But I would like messages that I send from that account to have a "Reply-To" header set to my new address. It seems I can only do that globally, but since not all of my email is work related, I don't want to do that.
This at least makes it easier to switch back and forth without reaching for the mouse.

Is there any way to have an email address that is not associated with an email account in Mail appear as the "reply-to" address?
I have an email address that I use for my business that has no mailbox - it's just a forwarding address. I want people to use that instead of the address I use with MobileMe, but most people instinctively use the Reply button. That sends their reply to my MobileMe address....

If I understand the question right, then the answer is "yes." Just list each account in the Email Address field (separated by a comma) in the Accounts section of Mail's prefs for the one account that exists. Hopefully that makes sense. You can then use the pop-up to select the "from" account when composing a message.

Griffman's suggestion worked for me. I had to change the SMTP server to the same as my work address "alias" or "forwarding" account due to that security restriction of MobileMe mentioned by clarkkorb.
Thanks for your help! Now if I could just get it to work that way from the iPhone.... ?:|
