Looks interesting but how does it slide, work on various surfaces for cursor control?

This is a good example of a product which solves problems that don't exist.

Here is a Microsoft product that seems to be well designed, with the exception of one glaring thing: the R/F nub. Why not just go with Bluetooth, and spare the little bit that could easily be lost??

Man, I could not agree more. I was excited about this product, right up until I saw that it uses RF instead of bluetooth. WTH?? Why are peripheral makers so freakin' hellbent on NOT using Bluetooth?! I just don't understand it. I would love to see some explanations from Microsoft, Logitech and almost every other company that makes computer mice.

No kidding! Is there some sort of kickback for using components from R/F manufacturers or something? I can't honestly imagine that Bluetooth would be much more (if any more) expensive... why not just go w/ the superior technology? I've been using Bluetooth input devices for about four years now, and honestly the only issues I've ever had w/ the signal is when the batteries get weak. I've seen a dozen or so folks struggle with R/F devices - even with the dongle pointing directly at the mouse. Having seen both in action, I tell everyone who is considering wireless that they need to pick up something that uses Bluetooth; if you're set on R/F you're seriously going to save a lot of headache by staying wired.

I use a nice little Logitec Laser Bluetooth mouse with my Macbook Pro. The Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks is my recommendation.

I gotta be honest, not my fav Macworld Video.... I agree with the previous comments regarding the mouse's usability. For $60, why wouldn't you just pick up a Mighty Mouse? More buttons, uses bluetooth and its NOT a Microsoft product. Or, at least one the new ones that are designed for the Mac. Was the only plus side to the Arc mouse was that it folds in half and comes with a nifty carrying case? Thanks but I'm going to pass on this one...
