Rob,
Since you can already do this in two other ways, by 1) adding a Genre tag (which is one less click, since it's in the default Info tab) and 2) creating a "movie" playlist (create a playlist and put movies in it), I'm not sure a THIRD way is all that helpful.
What WOULD be helpful is if the menus would move more quickly, by using a better method of showing the thumbnails, allowing you to "turn off thumbnails", showing smaller ones? Something!
This is the ONE change that would improve the AppleTV the most! Pass it on up?

Maybe I'm missing something, but using genres or playlists comes with their own compromises. For Genres, you can only navigate by genre until you go back to the main My Movies list. With playlists, don't you need to navigate to the Music folder?
The nice thing about Rob's tip is that you can add some hierarchy to the My Movies list which in my opinion is a nice addition to a ridiculously one-dimensional browsing structure. Numerous extra features can go into a folder and James Bond is a great example of the subgroup of films that can be band together.
I guess by extension, can you add an episode number to this subgroup of movies so that they can for example show up chronologically vs alphabetically? (I know that you can do this with the Sort fields, but this seems a more logical approach).
