When I paste a new icon for a folder, the icon is no longer clickable. Nor does it respond to a drag operation. Now only the name portion of the folder responds to clicking and or dragging. Is there a way around this? I use the standard get info and cut and past.

This is kind of an unorthodox way of creating a folder...
You can just right click on the desktop to create a new folder.

Do you want the folder to look like the folder you're getting the get-info from?

If so:
Create a new folder
do the get-info on the folder with the custom icon
select the little picture in the upper left hand corner
edit copy

do a get-info on the new folder
select the little picture in the upper left hand corner
edit paste

I think he is referring to copying and pasting the icon itself in get info like the old days.

1. Where did you get the icon?

2. Did u get info on the source icon and copy?

3. The problem is the original icon or the new one?

hehehe, yes that is what I meant.

I'm using jpg.s either photos or graphics from the web and my own photos. like a photo of my laptop for computer files etc. (a religious icon for my icons folder...)
